Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon

Poking around NASA and found this little gem. (you can click on the title to get a better picture) Hopefully the weather will be good. I actually saw Venus and Jupiter fairly close last night, maybe a fist width at arms length apart.

I have been fairly bad about getting my telescope out this year, usually too tired to lug the thing down to the car, then out to a dark spot to set it up. Actually went out for a drive last night and found a really dark spot, where the Milky Way was very visible, and I could even make out Andromdeda as a fuzzy little spot in the sky. Maybe I will take the scope out tonight or tomorrow night if the sky stays clear.
