With friends surrounded
Q: What do Canadian's do when the temperature hits -30C?
A: Go camping of course!
Last weekend, 500 Scouts and Guides got together in Cambie Creek Nordic area, in Manning Park for our annual winter camp called Rovent. This years camp was the coldest in my 12 years of attending, but we all had fun still. Snow golf, outdoor dance at -20C, and of course Miss Strawberry Flats (I can't explain this one, other than saying I feel cold for the contestants!) And the stars! I had my telescope out Friday night (before the lenses frosted up) and we were looking at Mars, Saturn, the Orion Nebula, and the Andromeda Galaxy to name a few. I will have some of my photos up on Flickr soon if you want to take a look.
I can't wait till next year!
